New project manager

31st May 2023
My name is Caroline Barcham and I am the new Find your Way Project Officer, taking over from Kay Hawke.

A little bit about myself. I have been orienteering for about 25 years. I'm definitely not a runner but love the challenge that I get from orienteering. I am currently based in the North West and am a member of South East Lancashire Orienteering Club (SELOC).

Prior to this I was a secondary school teacher. I have had a career teaching Math's and developing orienteering within the school. Now I am delighted to have the opportunity to promote and develop a sport I love as a job!

For more information on the Find Your Way project and details on how your club can get involved, please contact Caroline at: caroline.barcham@britishorienteering.org.uk

A whole year of fun!

7th October 2022
The Find Your Way Project is almost celebrating it's first anniversary - and what a year it has been!

We have created some brilliant courses and activities for communities across the whole of England, and the best bit is - there's so much more to come!

Clubs are hard at work to create even more opportunities for you to explore your local areas and we have six new areas added for 2023! Watch this space!

Summer of fun!

1st September 2022
A summer full of activity has come to an end with many of you getting out and about exploring the areas showcased by our brilliant orienteering clubs!

Don't forget that all of the virtual orienteering courses throughout the country are open live 24/7 so you can visit (and revisit) the courses as many times as you like at your own convenience! Can you beat the time you set on a course you have already done by finding a better cut-through, try a harder course, or even travel to a new area and see the surroundings through a new light?

There are many maps on the club pages which you can download to take along with you, and these are being added to daily! If you like the excitement of finding the checkpoints and the challenge of finding the best route then why don't you visit the social media pages of our clubs and see what 'real life' events they have on offer?
